Major emphasis of the institute is to produce and disseminate elite germplasm of Murrah buffalo bulls, as well as to initiate production and conservation of germplasm of other breeds of buffaloes in the country. In this regard, a Sire Directory has been brought out, which provides all relevant information in a nut-shell about the breeding bulls available with the institute or whose semen is stored frozen.
