TRAININGS


1. Scientists/ Teachers Trainings
The Institute organized sixteen training programmes for the faculty members/ scientists of SAUs, ICAR Institutes and other organizations in the discipline of Animal Production and Management, under NARP trainings.

2. Farmers' Trainings


During 1997-98 four Farmer's training programmes on "Dairy Farming" of 21 days duration each were organized at the Institute. In these trainings 150 farmers of surrounding village were trained. Recently, two training programs were organized for Van Gujjars of Uttranchal and the farmers of Banaras (UP) in 2004 and 2005, respectively. An off-campus training on buffalo management and fodder production was organized at Badi Thirpali (Churu), Rajasthan in July, 2006 in which 18 farmers participated. A new program for training of rural unemployed youth and farm women has been initiated in collaboration with District Rural Developmental Agency, Rohtak.

3. Summer/Winter Schools/Short Courses.
The Institute organized three ICAR sponsored summer schools (1989, 2001, 2003) on various aspects of buffalo physiology and reproduction and a sort course in 2007 on stem cell technology.

4. Miscellaneous
The Institute provides necessary training / guidance to scientists / veterinarians / staff / farmers undergoing trainings organized by other organizations like Remount Vety. Corps., Agril. Universities, Sainik Rehabilitation programs etc. Post Graduate students of different state Universities accomplish their research projects under the guidance of Institute scientists. Foreign delegations frequently visit the Institute and evince keen interest in institute activities.

  • Participated in trainings / short courses / summer & winter schools etc. organised by various organisations, SAUs, ICAR institutes, Centre of Advance Studies etc. as guest faculty.
  • National training programme on Buffalo Breeding Management, 1998-99. SN Kala - Course Coordinator, RK Sethi, Course Director, N Rana - Associate Coordinator.
  • A total of sixteen trainings on 'Animal Production and Management' were organised under NARP phase-II (National Agricultural Research Phase-II) by the Buffalo Nutrition Division between July 1991 to June 1996. In addition, also organised following Seminars / Symposia / Congresses as per the list given below:
    >>2nd World Buffalo Congress (Dec.12-16, 1998) with Dr. V D Mudgil, the then Director, CIRB as the Organizing Secretary and most of the staff was associated with various committees.
    >>Three Indo- Australian seminars on under Indo-Australian Project.
    >>National symposium on "Buffalo Research for Higher Production" April 5-6, 1996.
    >> 4th Asian Buffalo Congress. Feb. 25-28, 2003, N Delhi
